About the Position:

Truck drivers are responsible for transporting various materials from one point to another and must adhere to all United States Department of Transportation regulations during the process. Drivers, as required by the United States Department of Transportation, have to keep a running log that records their daily work tasks, any accidents that he or she is involved in and the basic condition of the vehicle. The driver must have the ability to aid in the loading and unloading of cargo that he or she will transport. Drivers work with different sizes and types of trucks and trailers. Must have a valid Class A commercial driver’s license and motor vehicle history record that meet company insurance requirements.


  • High School Education or equivalent
  • At least 3 to 5 years of previous Truck Driving experience
  • Must maintain a valid Class A Driver’s License
  • Must hold hazmat and tanker endorsement
  • Must have an insurable driving record
  • Must pass a bi-annual Drivers Physical to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (49 CFR 391.41-391.49)
  • Truck Driver is responsible for equipment inspection prior to every trip.
  • Truck driver must check some of the following items: fluid levels, proper safety equipment is on board, tire pressure, functioning of the brakes, lights, windshield wipers, turn signals and Trailer hook up system.
  • The Vehicle’s side mirrors have to be adjusted for blind spots and to ensure that the driver has proper visibility before and during any road trip.
  • The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe delivery of the equipment and cargo being transported.
  • Upon delivery of the cargo, the Truck Driver is responsible for obtaining signatures from the client, that the cargo has been delivered safely.
  • When a driver has returned the vehicle to the company, they are responsible to turn in any problems or repairs that need to be addressed.
  • Ensure all cargo tickets are invoiced in a timely manner.

Successful candidate must meet all conditions of COP’s Drug and Alcohol testing requirements as a condition of employment.  Drug/alcohol screening is administered post-offer and pre-employment.
